Just A Reminder

“They are only little once. Time goes by fast so enjoy it while you can. They grow up before you know it. You’ll miss these days.” I don’t know about you but I hear these things almost every time I go out in public with my boys. People see small children and instantly remember their children that were once babies. They just can’t seem to help but remind you how fast life goes. I hear these things so often that I have gotten in a habit of just nodding or saying “yes I know”. Honestly though, I need these reminders. I, like many others, get caught up in life and the long list of things that need to be done. I figure if the boys are happy playing then I can go about the house and get stuff done. Yes some stuff needs to be done, but it doesn’t all have to be done RIGHT NOW. I think of those reminders about how time goes by too fast and it helps me stop, take a break from the “things” and really enjoy some time with my kids. It’s so fun to see the things they are learning and how big of a smile they have when mom and dad act silly with them. These are the moments that I will miss when they grow older. I’ll see young parents with their new babies and urge them to enjoy this season of life while it lasts, because they really are only little once. The house can be picked up during naps and I can get all the “to dos” done later. Today I’ll ROAR like a dinosaur for my toddler, make silly faces for my infant and enjoy all the little moments that will be gone before I know it. Just a friendly reminder moms and dads, this time goes by fast, so enjoy it while you can!
