Cut hearts out of construction paper and have endless learning fun! You can make two hearts of every color for color matching. Cut out a bunch of different colors for your child to work on patterns. Count the hearts as you put them in and out of a container. Have the child pick a colored heart then go find something in the room or house that is the same color. If you have more than one child this can be a fun racing game. Put stickers or pictures on one side of the hearts, flip them upside down and play a simple memory game. Write letters on the hearts to practice alphabet recognition or put all the letters of your child’s name on the hearts for them to practice spelling their name. I’m sure there are many more ideas that you all could come up with too. Think about your child’s age, their abilities, and pick a game that meets their learning needs. If one game is too hard or too easy try another one. It’s a fun way to have some one on one time with your child too. Make it a habit to sit down and play a heart game each night. Playing fun games like these show your child that learning can be fun and that you are interested in their learning. Have fun playing and learning together!
