How often do you take time to “stop and smell the roses” or “treat yo self”? Probably not enough! I’m guilty of it too. Spending my time trying to take care of everyone else and leaving little or no time for myself. It’s very important to take care of yourself though! We know this. You can’t pour into others if you’re empty. Sometimes we don’t take time for ourselves because we don’t think we have time or because we don’t know how to. Make time today to take a moment for yourself and your self care! Below are some self care ideas. Some are quick and can be a part of your daily routine while others might be something you do once a week or every other week. Just make sure you take the time to do something for yourself...I challenge you! If you’re up for an even greater challenge, try to complete the entire list below. You will be glad you did!
-Stretch your entire body.
-Sit down for some quiet time with a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage.
-Get some fresh air.
-Take an extra long bath/shower.
-Read an inspirational article or watch a ted talk.
-Treat yourself to a fun “me” product (fav lotion, a healthy snack, classic movie, new book).
-Set aside a time for a breathing exercise each day (you can even download breathing/relaxation apps).
-Play with a pet or visit the local animal shelter.
-Read a good book or watch a funny movie.
-Journal, doodle or color.
-Go do an activity that makes you feel refreshed or happy.
